Next Meeting

A Note from the President…

Our next Executive meeting is Wednesday, August 1 at 12 p.m. at Grandma’s Kitchen. We will be finalizing our Parade plans and recruiting volunteers for our Trade Fair Committee.

The next General Membership meeting is September 19 at Putters, and is a lunch meeting.

We have a survey up on Survey Monkey, looking for member input. Please take the time to answer our 5 questions. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/QSGLXSX

The next big event the Chamber is planning is the Claresholm Business Conference on September 21 & 22. We will kick off the event with Community Therapist Doug Griffiths on Friday at the Claresholm Community Centre. We will start the event with a cocktail hour to give attendees a chance to mingle before Doug takes the stage at 7. Then the next day is a full day of fun and learning for your business at the High School. Doors will open at 8:30 and the first session starts at 9 a.m. Lunch is included and the last session will wrap up at 5 p.m. We are excited to have Alex Carnio (nee Kulas) to teach us about social media marketing, Herkey Cutler who will end our day and get you excited about going to work! Our format for the day offers options for three other session times. The full schedule will be posted soon. Tickets are available now at the Local Press, Economic Development office or on our website.

In October we are reinstating the Claresholm Business Awards! Nominations will be taken during August, and nominees will be contacted in September. The Awards will be presented October 17 as a celebration of Small Business Week.

Two other projects that we are working on is a Chamber Display to put up at events around town and a Welcome Package for new residents and businesses in town. Members can supply business cards, brochures, products, or whatever you think will help to attract people to your business. The Display will be put at the Agriplex for events, Bench Show and Car Show on Fair Days and anywhere members are willing to help get it to. The Welcome Package will replace the Welcome Wagon which used to be in town. So volunteers will be required to help distribute these as well. Items can be dropped off with Amanda at the Local Press to be included in both these projects.

Volunteers are needed for:

Parade Decorating, and Parade Participating. Contact John Corlett for more information at 403-625-4466

Trade Fair Committee – Contact Tony Walker if interested at tony@cfabsw.com

We are up to 80 members now! Thank you for your support during this year of transition.
